"My 11 year old is super picky, it's really hard to find activities/camps she really enjoys and she LOVED the Summer Camp at Western. The staff is not just super knowledgeable and caring but they are masters at tailoring activities & times according to the group's needs & preferences. I wish every kid on the Island could experience at least one of WEA's camps."

Our Mountain Bike Day Camp runs primarily out of the Harbourview Road parking lot that access the Sea-to-Sea Regional Park. We also operate out of several other Sooke area locations. Drop-off and pick-up Mon-Thurs is at 09:15 and 15:15 at the end of Harbourview Road. On non-biking days we will be transporting kids to and from Harbourview Rd. via our bus or van so picku-up and drop-off for Sooke families will not change. Please note, on Fridays, drop-off is at Harbourview Road at 09:15 and pick-up is at the Sooke Esso Station (next to the Sooke Ocean Side Brewery) at 16:30.
You need to have dropped-off or picked up your camper before the departure time. All campers are driven by professional drivers.

"An awesome camp in a beautiful setting where kids learn outdoor survival skills, go on challenging adventures, and have lots of fun outdoors."
Our Victoria summer mountain bike camp is a highly active, extra-fun outdoor adventure camp! Kids from Victoria, Sooke, Langford and surrounding communites have a blast experiencing the outdoor on a mountain bike, while fishing or while playing on the water. Our natural locations have old growth forest, mountain vistas, fresh air and warm lakes! Campers learn about mountain biking safety, mountain biking skills, equipment, are introduced to fly and cast fishing, get to explore the woods and so much more!
"I am an 11 year old girl who attended camp last summer. I learned how to start a fire with just a match and what I could find on the forest floor, I improved my archery skills and I experienced canoeing for the first time. We helped cook and set up shelter. Landon was very funny and nice. He made me feel welcome. It was super duper fun."
Modern children & youth do not get very many opportunities to learn life skills including how to lead others, manage conflict and think for themselves. Western Education Adventure’s day camps program focuses specifically on these life skills while teaching youth wilderness and outdoor adventure skills.
While activities may vary from week to week depending on the weather and group input, this list contains our main daytime mountain bike kids camp Victoria program activities:
• How to ride a mountain bike • Mountain biking safety • General mountain biking • Basic bike maintenance • Basic of fly casting • Basics of fishing • Leadership • Decision Making • Conflict Management • Group Management • Navigation • Canoe and Water Safety • Canoe Rescues • Swimming • Kayaking • Camping Practices • Food packing • Cooking
Western Educational Adventures takes safety seriously. Not only do we want our participants to have an exceptional time, but just as importantly, we want them to return home safe and sound. All of Western Educational Adventures staff are certified in high level first aid and have years of experience managing risk in the outdoors. You won’t find a more qualified kids summer camp staff team anywhere else!
"Our Daughter spent two weeks last Summer at Camp Barnard. She really enjoyed herself learning how to paddle in a canoe, make a campfire, and build a shelter. Landon is a great leader and his company makes it easy for kids to get out into the wilderness in a safe and inclusive environment."
WEA takes sickness and infectious diseases very seriously. Our policies and procedures regarding infectious diseases are science based and reviewed by medical professionals. Click on the button below to view our infectious disease policy.
