Yes our summer camps offer financial assistance in Victoria and on Vancouver Island BC! WEA believes that every child in Victoria and on Vancouver Island deserves the chance to experience and learn through the outdoors. Unfortunately summer camps are very expensive and beyond the financial reach of some local families, which is why we offer a broad range of financial aid options ragning from partial to full payment support. Typically, families will be required to pay a deposit to secure their space while the funding application is processed.
We offer three types of financial assistance support for our programs
Families may be able to reduce their program fees by successfully referring other families to Western Educational Adventures. Discounts and requirements are determined on a case-by-case basis. This option may be available regardless of outside funding.
We work with community-based, non-profit organizations to help connect families with grant funding, bursaries, and other financial support. WEA also discounts its programs to help make available funding go further. Please note that access to outside funding is limited and not guaranteed.
Families may choose to pay for programs over time using a payment plan. This option does not involve outside funding and allows families to spread out payments based on an agreed-upon schedule
The process is designed to secure your child’s space while funding and payment arrangements are being finalized.
Submit a financial assistance application with your program request, deposit amount, and payment plan.
If your application is a fit, you will be asked to complete a placeholder registration and submit a deposit to hold your child’s space.
Once funding or payment arrangements are confirmed: If funding covers the full cost, your deposit may be refunded If funding covers part of the cost, your deposit will be applied and the remaining balance is due If funding is not approved, families are responsible for the full balance
Families may use referral credits, outside funding, a payment plan, or a combination of these options to cover the remaining balance.
The deposit is used to hold your child’s space in the program while funding and payment arrangements are being finalized. Because spaces are limited, we cannot hold a spot without a deposit. If outside funding is approved, it will be applied to your balance. Depending on the outcome, your deposit may be refunded, partially applied, or count toward your total payment. If funding is not approved or is only partially approved, families are responsible for the remaining balance.
This process applies to all programs.
Complete the application form with your requested program and basic family information.
As part of the application, families must provide:
We will review your application to determine if it is a fit.
For longer or higher-cost programs, additional steps may be required. This may include providing further information and/or participating in an interview or selection process.
If your application is a fit, you will be asked to complete the “[Program Name] Waitlist Placeholder” registration through our system. This ensures all required forms and participant information are completed in advance.
After completing the placeholder registration, families will submit their deposit to hold their space. Spaces are limited and are not held without a deposit.
If you are applying for outside funding, funding must be confirmed at least 30 days prior to your program start date. If funding is not confirmed by this time, families will be required to either:
Registrations will be finalized once forms are complete and payment has been received.
Other applications may be accepted on an ongoing basis depending on availability. After reviewing your application, we will advise you on the current status of financial assistance for the program in question.
