We offer two types of funding options for summer camps:
We believe that the best way to provide free or discounted summer camp programming is via exchange. Therefore, under this option, families have the option of having their child's fees subsidized by succesfully referring other familes. Exact subsidies and requirements are determined on a case-by-case basis. This option is always available, regardless of outside funding.
We work closely with Victoria-based, non-profit organizations to help provide funding to families via grants, burseries and other donations. WEA discounts its camps to help make grant dollars go further. **Please note that we sometimes do not have access to these funds.**
Camp program applications apply to pro-d day, spring break, winter break and summer camps. After submitting the application form, you will be contacted and required to provide/complete:

After we recieve your initial application form, we will send you a financial information form to complete. Our financial information form and provide an Income Tax Assessment from no more than 2 tax years ago & current paystubs for each adult in the family (minimum 1 month). You will have 48 hours to complete this information starting from when we send you this form.
Multi-week programs, such as our Leadership Program, have a more in-depth application process. This is because they run for a longer period and cost substantially more. After submitting the application form, you will be contacted and required to provide/complete:

A letter (or photo for children who cannot write) from the participant explaining why they should come to our program, what they are interested in, what they hope to learn and whatever else they would like to share. You will have 48 hours to complete this letter, starting from when we send you the financial information form.
A letter explaining your circumstances, why your child will benefit from our program, how you will help our program and any other information you would like to share. You will have 48 hours to complete this letter, starting from when we send you the financial information form.
A letter of support from an organization, teacher, etc. Explaining how they know your family and child, why they think your family deserves this funding and any other information they think we should know. You will have 2 weeks to complete this letter, starting from when we send you the financial information form.

Other applications may be accepted on an on-going basis. After receiving your initial application, we will let you know the current status of financial assistance for the program in question.
