Wild Paws Day Camps Local, value-based day camps located at Thetis Lake, Elk Lake or Sooke Parks (no transportation provided by WEA). Ages 6-10 (11-12 year-olds accepted)
Adventure X Day Camp Program Ages 9-13. Similar to our Classic Day Camp but with added adventure and new activities. Fishing, wilderness navigation, outdoor cooking & more.

WEA offers week & 2-week long daytime summer camps in Victoria BC and overnight summer camps programs (with outdoor activities including canoeing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, outdoor cooking, geocaching, fire building, archery, camp cooking, campfires, wilderness navigation and running games), and custom outdoor programs young people of various ages and genders.      Join WEA on a fun-filled, outdoor educational summer day camp program! Kids activities swimming, canoeing, hiking, archery, geocaching, fire-building, shelter-building, camp cooking, rainforest/beach exploration, running games and more. Exact activities may vary from week to week depending on weather and participant input. All of our camps and programs are experiential and educationally focused.     Description of WEA's Local Langford, Sooke & Saanich Day Camp:

     A great value, our Wild Paws camp is a super exciting, locally-based, extended day program with camps located in View Royal, Saanich and Sooke. Like our other camps, kids get to experience a variety of fun and exciting activites while learning valuable outdoor and life skills. These activities may include shelter-building, canoeing, hiking, navigation, geocaching, orienteering, nature exploration, forest games, swimming and more. This camp is designed to support families with working parents that need to balance cost with quality, exciting outdoor adventure. It is also great for kids who do not travel well.     Description of WEA's Adventure X Summer Day Camp:

     Are you a returning family or new family looking for something more challenging or different than WEA's Classic Summer Day Camp? Our Adventure X Day Camp program takes outdoor adventure in Victoria BC to the next level. Each week children get to choose what activities they do from a list of extra-adventure activities. Options typically include things like wilderness navigation, fishing, full day lake canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, outdoor cooking, marine exploration, advanced archery, joining in on a day of Classic Camp and more. Like our Classic Day Camp program, Fridays are a fun-filled day hike to a distant, awe-inspiring location.     Description: WEA's teen Forest Canoe Route Summer Camp is run as a partnership between WEA and Western Educational Adventure Society (WEAS). When people think about the West Coast, Vancouver Island, Campbell River, etc., they don't think about canoeing on a pristine freshwater lake chain! However, Vancouver Island's own Sayward Forest Canoe Circuit is a breath-taking, lesser-known wilderness adventure your teen will not want to miss! Youth travel accross lakes large and small and are challenged by portages (traveling from lake to lake), small, low-risk rivers and beaver. Like with most of WEA's programs, teens learn trip specific skills like canoe rescues, how to paddle, portaging, how to camp and cook as well as soft skills like leadership, conflict resolution and other life skills.     Description: WEA's youth sea kayaking Summer Camp is run as a partnership between WEA and Western Educational Adventure Society (WEAS). Your youth will get to experience a true, west coast, Vancouver Island adventure in this action packed, 10-day sea kayaking program. The BC ocean kayaking trip takes place in the stunning coastal marine environment of Desolation Sound and the Discovery Islands, near Campbell River BC, a few hours from Greater Victoria BC. Our paddle begins on either Quadra or Cortez Island (subject to change), BC. From there we work our way to (and back from) the Desolation Sound area with its magnificent coastal mountains and some of the warmest waters on the West Coast. Along the way, teens will learn all about sea kayking, marine biology, ecology, tides, currents, outdoor cooking, camping and more! Best of all they will be challenged and feel a real sense of accomplishment! They will also almost certainly SEA abundant marine life such as bald eagles, seals, sea lions, otters and maybe even some whales and dolphins! Join our Youth Summer Kayak Camp today!

    Description: WEA's Youth Hiking Summer Camp is run as a partnership between WEA and Western Educational Adventure Society (WEAS). The trip is highlighted by a multi-day hike through a coastal temperate rainforest on the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail (JDF Trail) on Southwestern Vancouver Island, a mere hour west of Victoria, B.C. Our trip typically starts near the surfing village of Jordan River and ends in the salmon fishing hotspot of Port Renfrew BC. Hiking program youth experience the magnificent Juan De Fuca Trail (the southern extension of the West Coast Trail) and all that it has to offer including suspension bridges, West Coast beaches and tidal pools teaming with West Coast marine life. Kids learn how to conduct a coastal hiking expedition, become a strong leader, work as a part of a team and much more! This is a once in a lifetime experience on a rugged, wild, West Coast coastline!

Your youth will get to experience what Vancouver Island alpinisim is all about in this action packed, 6-day backpacking program. The mountain hiking trip takes place in the stunning alpine environment of Strathcona Provincial Park in Central Vancouver Island, near Courtenay BC, a few hours from Greater Victoria BC. We begin our hike at Raven Lodge on Mount Washington, BC, travel through the alpine meadows, pristine lakes and awe-inspiring peaks of the stunning Forbidden Plateau area. We may even summit the famed Mt. Albert Edward! While it may be a few hours from Victoria in one of WEA's vehicles, the drive is more than worth it!

    Description of WEA's 6 & 13-day overnight sleepaway camps Victoria BC:

     Run as a partnered program between WEA and Western Educational Adventure Society (WEAS), there is nothing more life-changing for kids than overnight summer camps. Campers learn valuable life skills like independence, confidence, teamwork, conflict management. 6 & 13-day, day long overnight sleep-away camps run Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon. During each program, campers get to do a variety of fun activities including learning how to cook for the rest of the group in our kitchen! Participants choose and plan their own group activities like canoeing, kayaking, hiking, geocaching, fire-building, shelter-building, camp cooking, campfires, forest running games, swimming and more. In addition, 6-day groups go on a 1-night backcountry hiking trip, while 13-day groups go on a 4-night backcountry canoeing or hiking trip. Four our trips we go to exciting places like the Juan de Fuca trail, Kludahk Trail, Strathcona Park and Sawyward Forest Canoe Circuit. Try our unique and one-of-a-kind overnight camp program this summer!
