"My kids had an excellent spring ski camp with Landon. He created a plan, coordinated with the resort, and gave us lots of feedback. His technical knowledge, energy and sense of fun worked really well with the kids."
Mount Cain is a quiet, local ski resort located on Northern Vancouver Island approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes north of Campbell River BC. Don’t let the small size of Cain fool you! With plenty of powder from an annual average snowfall of over 15 meters (38 feet), no crowds and varied terrain to explore, Mount Cain is one of Canada’s best kept winter secrets.
This isn't just any ski weekend! At night, particiapants stay in a beautiful lodge (it's just no fun camping at this time of year when you need to dry your gear every night!) where they get to practice cooking for the rest of the group. During the day they will learn how to sharpen and wax their skis, learn all about ski design, shapes and materials, and get instruction from expert skiers. When it's time to stop skiing for the day, participants get to do things like sledding, play in the snow, go snowshoeing, hike the trails and experience the surrounding ecology. The whole time they are learning to work together, to take care of themselves and appreciate the winter wonder land around them without techonology - and they don't even know it - they just think they are having a good time!
"I am an 11 year old girl who attended camp last summer. I learned how to start a fire with just a match and what I could find on the forest floor, I improved my archery skills and I experienced canoeing for the first time. We helped cook and set up shelter. Landon was very funny and nice. He made me feel welcome. It was super duper fun."
-Cianna (Summer Camper)

"Our Daughter spent two weeks last Summer at Camp Barnard. She really enjoyed herself learning how to paddle in a canoe, make a campfire, and build a shelter. Landon is a great leader and his company makes it easy for kids to get out into the wilderness in a safe and inclusive environment."
