Pro-D Day Programs

Join us on one of our fun filled, educational winter Pro - D Day outdoor programs for youth and children! WEA is offering 2 different programs for youth and children in the Greater Victoria B.C. area this winter: 1. Local Programs - program activities include hiking, snow fort building (if we find snow), geocaching, navigation, orienteering, fire building, forest running games and survival skills, and 2. Youth winter adventure programs, which include a trip to the mountains on Vancouver Island to build snow caves, go snowshoeing, learn about winter survival, etc. Lunch & Dinner is included in our Winter Pro - D Day programs. All of our programs are educationally focused, which means your children will not only have a great experience, but will learn something too!

Camp Barnard Program

The Program

Our winter pro-d day Camp Barnard program is a fun-filled day of outdoor activity. Activities will be decided by the kids based on the weather. Choices are: fire-building, shelter-building, forest games, nature exploration, archery & more! No to worry about the weather, we have access to heated shelter to use as needed.

Location

Camp Barnard is in Sooke, 3202 Young Lake Rd, Sooke, BC V9Z 0J6. Programs run from 0915-16:15 daily. Supervision can be available from 08:30-17:00 if requested and pre arranged at least one week before camp commencement, just in case you have to work!


Transportation Add-On

Programs running in Sooke, BC (Camp Barnard & Mount Manual Quimper) have optional transportation available. All other programs do not.

What to bring

Water bottle, backpack, lunch, sunscreen, hat, rain jacket, rain pants, warm jacket, gloves, warm pants, rubber boots, running shoes, hiking boots (optional but highly recommended), swimsuit, towel, clothes suitable for running in and a change of clothes. The program will run rain or shine!


Winter Skills Program

The Program

Our pro-d day Winter Skills program is designed to expose kids to the snowy, winter environment that they don't often get to experience. They get to do activities like build snow forts, go snowshoeing, learn about winter survival & safety, light winter fires and more! This program is a very long day, as depedning on weather, it may take a few hours to get to the snow!

What to bring

Safety

Western Educational Adventures takes safety seriously. Not only do we want our participants to have an exceptional time, but just as importantly, we want them to return home safe and sound. All of Western Educational Adventures staff are certified in high level first aid and have years of experience managing risk in the outdoors. You won’t find a more qualified staff team anywhere else!

Input your information. This is a one time step, your info will be saved for future registrations.

Step 3: Sign-Up for the program

Input your child (or children's information), select the program(s) you wish to register for.

Step 4: Submit your registration and payment

Step 5: Let your child (or children) have fun and learn!
