Summer Program Description
WEA offers week long Greater Victoria area summer day camp and summer overnight camp programs (with outdoor activities including canoeing, kayaking, hiking, geocaching, fire building, archery, camp cooking, campfires, wilderness navigation and running games), an outdoor swimming program, three Vancouver Island summer expedition type programs and custom outdoor programs and expeditions for young people of various ages and genders and for families. Our expedition programs include theme specific activities - hiking, canoeing or sea kayaking - and incorporate a multi-day wilderness expedition trip of varying length.
Description: Join WEA on a fun filled, outdoor educational summer day camp program! Program activities include swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, archery, geocaching, fire-building, shelter-building, camp cooking, running games and more and may vary slightly from week to week depending on weather and participant input. All of our programs are experiential and educationally focused on teaching outdoor and life skills. Your child will have learn and have fun! *Program dates with an astrix are not held at Camp Barnard, affecting families picking up & dropping off in Sooke only. Families living in the Sooke area will not be able to opt out of the transportation option.

Description: WEA's 6 day OR 13 day long overnight camp runs Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon. During each program, group participants help choose activities like canoeing, kayaking, hiking, geocaching, fire-building, shelter-building, camp cooking, campfires, forest running games, swimming and more. In addition, each group goes on either a one night or a 4 night backcountry hiking trip. Every participant gets the opportunity to help cook more than one meal for the rest of the group! Description: Western Educational Adventures Inc.’s Hike Program is highlighted by a multiday hike through a coastal temperate rainforest on the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail. Participants will experience crossing the trail’s many suspension bridges, west coast beaches and numerous tidal pools teaming with marine life.
