During this 7 day program, students learn everything there is to know about a canoe trip including portaging, paddle storkes, camp cooking, camp set-up & much more! Pick-ups are done in the early to mid-morning on day 1 and drop-offs are done in the evening of the final day. Exact times will vary based on pick-up location. We can arrange to transport groups from anywhere on Vancouver Island, including Nanaimo & Sidney BC ferry terminals and the Victoria airport. Please Contact Us with your desired pick-up and drop-off location(s). We will also do ferry and airport pick-ups.

Above all, our canoe program is more fun than you can imagine! Every lake on this beautiful 11 lake Vancouver Island canoeing circuit is unique. As well as its lakes, the Campbell River Sayward Canoe circuit has numerous small, shallow rivers to paddle down and beaver dams to scramble over all within a forest with endless mountain views in the distance. The circuit's backcountry campsites have giant cedar plank picnic tables. Participants learn canoeing skills & strokes, wilderness camping skills, about leadership, planning and much more!

Participants learn most of the skills required to run a successful backcountry canoe trip. Everything from making a meal plan to route planning to cleaning up the dishes in an environmental way. All of our participants come away from this experience with a comprehensive canoeing and backcountry camping skill set.

We believe that a good experience starts with good nutrition. Proper diet and eating habits are lacking in today’s society - a result of readily available fast foods, processed foods and a lack of nutritional education. We strive to provide quality, simple, wholesome meals with limited processed ingredients – in addition to the occasional smores and limited other tasty treats. This is part of why we include our participants in all meal planning, purchasing and cooking.
We are also very experienced in dealing with dietary restrictions and serious food allergies. Great care is taken to avoid serious participant food allergens whenever possible. Where this is not possible, we take great care to avoid cross contamination of ingredients.
